About Hidden Cove

I’ve made art as long as I have memory. I grew up with creative people all throughout my family, and they nurtured my passion from an early age, and the name Hidden Cove Studio is a reference to the little home studio I spent from 3rd-12th grade after school in on Lambert’s Cove on Martha’s Vineyard.

I’ve always loved art, but pursued teaching as a profession in college. My art was a part of that even so, and my Honors Thesis was a children’s book I wrote and illustrated. I received my Masters, only to graduate into the 2008 recession and couldn’t find a job. Since then, I have gotten married, had two amazing boys, ran an out-of-home bakery for a decade, and worked every side job I could to make ends meet.

When the pandemic hit, it felt like all my creative energy was stolen. My family suffered so many losses during that time, that it took until 2024 before I truly found my spark again when I picked up watercolors for the first time in a decade. Art rescued me, and I pour all that I recovered of myself into it so I could connect with others so we know we are not alone.

I built my studio with my dad in 2023, and it is the haven for every new craft and skill I decide to embark on, as well as practice my long time favorites. I am the epitome of Jack-of-all-trades, Master of none, as I chase the dopamine and see what I can create.
